On a nearby shoreline, at the edge of a sharp cliff-face, stood a magnificent white castle; this is the home of Prince Eric.  Near the ship shelter’s entrance, Eric was playing Ariel’s song on his flute. He then stopped upon remembering the mysterious girl who saved his life.

“That voice. I can't get it out of my head.” He then turns to Max, who was resting at his side, “I’ve looked everywhere, Max - where could she be?”

What the two didn’t know was that nearby, Ariel, Littlefoot, and the others washed into the shallow tide pool. Ariel and Littlefoot were both exhausted from the long trip they just took. As for the others, Sebastian and Flounder were panting as Petrie collapsed on a rock.

“Me so tired!” said the little Pteranodon, as he spat out water

Soon, Ariel and Littlefoot began to wake up. Ariel looks down and, to her surprisement, sees knees in place of her tail. Littlefoot noticed it to.

“Ariel- you- you’ve got-”

Ariel then lifted one of her legs and saw her new feet, and Littlefoot did the same.
Looking at both of their feet, Littlefoot came up with an Idea.

“Ariel, try doing this.”

He then wiggled his toes. Ariel did the same, and the both looked at each other with happy faces. Suddenly, they both heard a familiar call.

“Well, look at what the catfish dragged in!”

Everyone looked up and saw Scuttle flying towards them.

“Hi Scuttle!”

Scuttle waved at Littlefoot before landing on Ariel.

“Look at ya!  Look at ya! There's something different.  ”

“Yeah, she’s got-”

Before Littlefoot could explain, Scuttle covered his mouth.

“Don't tell me - I got it.  It's her hairdo, right?  You've been using the dinglehopper, right kid?”

Littlefoot shook his head.

“No?  No huh, well let me see.  New . . . seashells?  ”

Littlefoot rolled his eyes in humor as Ariel began lightly moving her leg, which Scuttle stood on, up and down.

“No new seashells.  I gotta admit I can't put my foot on it right now, but if I just stand here long enough I know that I'll -”

“SHE'S GOT LEGS, YOU IDIOT!”  Sebastian screamed, surprising everyone. “She traded her voice to the sea witch and got legs.  Jeez, man . .”

“I knew that.”

“Ariel's been turned into a human.” Flounder explained as Ariel tried to stand but was having trouble with it.

“She's gotta make the prince fall in love with her, and he's gotta kiss her, whatever that means.” Chomper added

“And she's only got three days.” Sebastian concluded as Ariel fell with a splash.

“Well the bright side is that we’re on shore, and we’re close to Eric’s castle.” Said Littlefoot, while shaking a piece of kelp off his head.

“How can there be a bright side man?” said Sebastian as he turned Littlefoot’s head towards Ariel, “Just look at her. On legs. On human legs!”

“Uh, yeah, we can see that Sebastian” said Cera, “Does it look like we’ve hatched yesterday?”

Sebastian at gasped Cera’s words.

“You kids don’t get it, do you? This is a catastrophe!  What would her father say? I'll tell you what her father'd say, he'd say he's gonna kill himself a crab, that's what her father'd say! I'm gonna march meself straight home right now and tell him just like I shoulda done de minute-”

Ariel, who heard Sebastian, scooped him up with her hands, shaking her head frantically.
“. . . and don't you shake your head at me, young lady.  Maybe there's still time. If we could get that witch to give you back your voice, you could go home with all the normal fish, and just be . . .”

Ariel’s sad face and Littlefoot’s harsh glare began to make Sebastian realize something, “just be . . . just be miserable for the rest of your life.  All right, all right.  I'll try to help you find that prince.”

Overfilled with happiness, Ariel kisses Sebastian before placing him back on his rock

“Boy.  What a soft-shell I'm turning out to be.”

With Sebastian back on their side, Littlefoot and his friends now focus on the new problem they’re facing.

“So, how are we going to help out Ariel?” asked Cera

“Well, the first thing we need to do is to teach her how to walk.” Said Ruby

Chomper suddenly had an idea.

“Hey, Littlefoot, you can teach her wow to walk.”

“Me?”

“Why not? You were the one who taught me how to walk.”

“I don’t know…”

“Come on Littlefoot, if it weren’t for you, I would still be sitting at my nest now.”

“He does have a point Littlefoot,” said Cera, “You’re the best choice for a teacher out of all of us.”

“I agree, I do, I do” said Ducky

Touched by his friends’ words, Littlefoot decided to take the task. On another part of the beach, Ariel sits in the water while watching Littlefoot, who was standing on the shore.

“Okay Ariel, First you lift up one foot . . . then place it down in front of you, and then the other. Now you try it, but do it slowly”

Ariel then slowly gets to her feet once more. She then starts to take a step. Littlefoot watches her progress gladly.

“Good, now take a few more.”

Ariel nods, and then starts again. Moving a little faster, she then stumbles and falls into the water again. Though disappointed, Littlefoot went up to Ariel with a smile and helped her to her feet.

“It’s okay Ariel; you just went a little to fast that time. Try again.”

With determination, Ariel got up and began once more. This time she took a few small steps forward and didn’t fall. She turns to Littlefoot, but then started to feel off balance again. But before she could fall, Littlefoot placed his head on her back.

“Keep your back straight.”

Doing what Littlefoot said, Ariel straightens up and takes five more steps, then six, then ten more. Sebastian jaw dropped upon seeing what’s happening.

“She’s doin it! SHE’S WALKING!”

“That’s the way kid!” Scuttle called.

With a smile on her face, Ariel walked out of the water and joined Littlefoot on the shore.

“Way to go Ariel, now let’s see if you can CATCH me!”

With that, Littlefoot took off running playfuly, with Ariel close behind him. To his surprise, Ariel then tackled Littlefoot, sending him to the ground. The rest of the gang approached.

“Well done Ariel,” said Chomper, “I knew you can do it!”

“So she can walk and run like us now,” said Cera, “what’s the next thing?”

“If I know one thing it’s this, if Ariel wants to be a human the first thing she’s gotta do is dress like one.”Scuttle said as he took some old sail material and posed with it.

He then turned to the children,

“Chomper, Ruby , can you two lend me some hands.”

“Sure, we can help”

“Great, now lemme see.”

Not far, Eric and Max were walking along the beach when Max sniffed something; it was the familiar scent of Ariel and Littlefoot. Excitedly, he barked at Eric, and ran off, getting him to follow

“MAX!”

Back with Ariel and the others, Scuttle gave out a wolf-whistle

“Ya look great kid. Ya look - sensational.”

Ariel was posing in front of them with the sail material Scuttle found and, with Chomper and Ruby’s help,  fashioned into a makeshift dress. Littlefoot and the children didn’t know what to think; to them, the “dress” was downright odd. They then heard Max barking as he approached. Flounder, frightened, dove into the water as Scuttle flew off and Sebastian leaped into Ariel’s pocket. Pluto excitedly chased Ariel and the children, who tried to avoid him by sitting on a tall rock. He leapt up, giving Ariel a lick on the face as Ariel showed up.

“MAX!”

Littlefoot then saw the prince arriving.

“Ariel- It’s him!”

“Max - Quiet Max! What's gotten into you fella?” then, Eric saw Ariel and the children, “Oh . . . Oh, I see.”

As Eric approached, Ariel pulled back her hair to make herself look more presentable as the children stepped forward.

“Are you all O.K.?  I'm sorry if this knucklehead scared yall.”

“He surprised us a little” said Chomper.

“He's harmless, really” replied Eric, before he suddenly realized that the little dinosaurs were speaking, “You – You can talk?!?”

“Well our mouths are moving and words are coming out.” said Cera
Instead of backing away in fear, Eric stood in awe.

“That’s amazing, do you have names?”

“Yes we do, mine’s Littlefoot.”

“I’m Chomper, and this is Ruby”

“Hello”

Littlefoot then turns to the rest of his friends

“And this is Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike, well he can’t talk.”

“Well it’s nice to meet you all, my name’s Eric.” Eric then looked up at Ariel, and noticed her smiling face. “. You . . . seem very familiar. . to me.  Have we met?”

Ariel nodded, making Eric excited.

“We have met?  I knew it!  You're the one - the one I've been looking for!  What's your name?”

Ariel tried to speak, but no words passed her lips.

“What’s wrong?” Littlefoot asked, but suddenly remembered that Ariel has given up her voice.

“What is it?” Eric asked.

Ariel put her hand to her throat and he understood.

“She can't speak?”

“I’m sorry Eric, she does not” said Ducky

“Oh.  Then she couldn't be who I thought.”

Both Max and Ariel blew out their lips in frustration while Cera sighed in irritation. But then Ariel tried to communicate with her hands. Eric instantly took notice.

“What is it?  You're hurt?  No, No . . . You need help.”

But then Ariel fell from the rock she was sitting on, and Eric caught her,

“Whoa, whoa, careful - careful - easy. Gee, you must have really been through something. Don't worry, I'll help you. Come on Come on, you'll be okay.”  Then, Eric turned to Littlefoot and his friends. “You guys can come too.”

Eric then led Ariel and the children to his castle as Ariel and Littlefoot looked back to see Scuttle give them a… Feather’s Up and Flounder gave an encouraging smile. With his confidence restored, Littlefoot hurried to catch up with his friends.
Later, Ariel was in a bubble bath, much to her delight and curiosity as the maid, Carlotta, came over and rinsed Ariel’s hair.

“Washed up from a shipwreck.  Oh, the poor thing.  We'll have you feeling better in no time.  ”

Sebastian peeked out from the pocket of Ariel’s “dress” but Carlotta grabbed it,
“I'll just - I'll just get this washed for you.”

Sebastian was then dumped into a large wooden tub of soapy water while hiding in the pocket still. He looks up and sees that Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, Chomper, and Ruby were in there as well, getting cleaned by some other maids. Sebastian also realized that the collars that the children wore were no longer on them. Before he could reach them, a maid grabbed the dress and began washing it as she spoke to the other maids.

“Well you must have at least heard about this girl”

“No, we haven’t”

“Well, Gretchen says . . .”

Sebastian and the dress were pressed as it was washed and when they came out, he burped on the soap water he’d swallowed and he was thrown onto the pressing belt, dress and all. Ducky and Petrie noticed this, and, with no one looking, crawled out of the tub and raced after him while listening to the maids’ conversation.

“Since when has Gretchen got anything right? I mean really, this girl shows up in rags and doesn't speak, not my idea of a princess.”

Ducky and Petrie watch as Sebastian goes through the presser. He fell into the laundry basket where Ducky and Petrie are waiting

“You okay?” asked Petrie

Before he could reply, Sebastian suddenly noticed that one of the maids was coming back. He dives into another pocked.

“Quick, get in!”

Ducky and Petrie quickly sneak in after him before the shirt is placed on a clothes line.
“If Eric's looking for a girl, I know a couple of highly available ones right here.”

As the clothes line was moved, Sebastian, Ducky, Petrie, and Ducky leapt out of the pocket and into a window, but gasped at what thyhe saw; a fish with its head lopped off, next to a cleaver, octopus tentacles trailing out of a steaming pot, but what really got to Sebastian was the stuffed crabs on a plate. Petrified by fear, both Sebastian and Petrie fainted. As for Ducky, she realized that things have gotten dangerous.
